Satisfaction

The Wang Dang Doodle lyrics make this an unique Satisfaction, with Phil just rockin’ it, major power cords doesn’t’ hurt, sweet Brokedown after, give

The sets energy level starts to peak during this Passenger, one of my favorites, give it a listen.

The final vocals, “Run and See” give me goose bumps and the Garcia solo is also very good. I had this version from many years and lost it and always

Stagger Lee
May 7, 1979
Allan Kirby Field House

2nd set Stagger Lee, well sung nicely jammed out, one of the best of ’79 for sure.
Sugar Magnolia
Aug. 10, 1982
Iowa Fieldhouse - University of Iowa

Was on this tour, Kansas City, St Paul & Alpine Valley, (Dicks Picks #32) but didn't go to the last show in Iowa City, one of the best Sugar Mags out there. Major Phil bombs and a real nice call and response during Sunshine Daydream, Bobby wailing away and Jerry with a pure lick. Very tasty, check it out and turn up the bass.
Visions of Johanna
March 19, 1986
Hampton Coliseum

The breakout, loved this 3-night run at Hampton, a break-out each night. Great version of Visions of Johanna, faintly remembering the Dylan version, we all tried in vain to sing the lyrics.
Visions of Johanna
Feb. 21, 1995
Delta Center

I was at the first break-out of Visions in Hampton in 86’ and this ’95 version is equally great, well sung by Garcia. One highlight from the last year.
That Would Be Something
Sept. 25, 1991
Boston Garden

The first one, great into by Hornsby, following Garcia lead. Dick’ Pick Vol 17 and the only one I know, don’t listen too much beyond the Hornsby years, will have to give the 93’ versions a listen.
