Great version from a great show, Jerry breaks a string at the end of Mr Fantasy (check out the YouTube video) which leads to a long Hey Jude Refrain

Jerry’s “Go Go Go” is what makes this one special. The whole show deserves another listen, then vote, Dick's Picks #10.

The Music Never Stopped

I love how Phil lays back for the first few bars, then Bam! slams it home. The middle jam in the version is what make is so special, give it a listen you won’t be disappointed.

This version needs more votes. Many, (if not all ’77-’78) versions have a smoking / fanning finale, but this version has the most intense middle jam. Jerry starts this amazing run, almost too fast, as he misses a few notes, but it is breathtaking as they continue to jam and then in unison, nail the return to the main melody.

I agree, this is a great version, after Jerry’s bout with laryngitis, the Spring of 78 through Red Rocks has some of his most impassioned singing ever.
Ship of Fools

Red Rocks Amphitheatre

One of the most passionately sung Ship of Fools ever played, all the Jerry ballads from these two nights at Red Rocks should be on the list.

I was with Rob when he made this tape and when they finish LLR, we look at each other and just smiled, nodded and said WOW! Great version, the China>Rider that follows is also very good, give it a listen
