It Must Have Been The Roses
July 8, 1978
Red Rocks Amphitheatre

One of the most passionately sung Roses out there, all the Jerry ballads from these two nights at Red Rocks should be on the list.

The entire 1st set from UVM ’78 should be in the list, this Roses is another of the gems from this set.

Looks Like Rain

Patrick Gymnasium - University of Vermont

The vocals are very impassioned, Jerry wailing away on the final, Donna in sync. LOVE this version, check it out.

Truckin'
Nov. 6, 1977
Broome County Arena

Started the second set about mid-way from the SB to the stage, by the time the set ended with Truckin, I was not more that 4 or 5 people back. After the astonishing Wharf Rat, (I need to vote for that one as well), the quick Stephens reprise and then Billy stands up and yells “Truckin’” The bounce to the lyrical part is infectious, Phil front and center singing away. The concluding jam is just outstanding. After the first peak, when they fall in to the give and take blues rift, Jerry pushing his effects pedals and wham, major distortion, this is a pure moment that I’ll never forget. Listen to again, LOUD!
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
May 12, 1977
Auditorium Theatre

This version needs to be ranked higher, on par with the other great versions from the Spring '77 tour, give it a listen and see / hear for yourself
Lazy Lightnin' -> Supplication
Sept. 6, 1983
Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Love this version, best of '83
Casey Jones
Dec. 2, 1971
Boston Music Hall

Fall ’71 is indeed a special era. Keith added presence boosted Jerry, just as Brent did in ’79. Keith is all over this Casey Jones and I again how a lapse, (stopping too soon), they restarting with a sick solo is what makes the Dead the Dead. Great version, top 10.
Casey Jones
Oct. 28, 1977
Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Hall

The third Casey Jones since ’74 is the most balls out rock and roll there is, Best Version yes, Best encore maybe. This version should have way more votes, “If you play it, they will come”
