Believe It Or Not

This is a good version and I really like the tone on Garcia’s guitar during the solo and great closing vocals. Give it a listen.

The first live version needs to be on this list, very well sung by Garcia and well played. They didn’t play this song enough.

“Thought I heard a young man” lines are just off the charts, Garcia giving every ounce. Give it a listen

If Sept ’87 MSG is most people’s favorite version, (at least the most votes for a 80’s version) than this version needs to be recognized.

Another great vesion from ’71 with a unique transition jam after the “We bid you Goodnight” coda, this time into JBG.

Good call CrackStraw, (if that’s your REAL name), very fine version. I always like the 1st set closer position for a smokin’ Jack Straw. Can’t decide if I like this one over the 10-22-78 version (RT Vol. 1 No. 4), can’t go wrong with most ’78 Jack Straws.

Ya this one rocks, Phil is clearly on-point throughout. Good call DarkStar transitive axis, this version should have a least a few more votes, RT No. 1 Vol 1 and the Full shows from The Spectrum. Weir is very low in these mixes, almost criminal since he adds so much to this song. Love when Garcia emphatically sings the final verses, he belts these out with gusto.

If I only had one vote, this version would be it. The “Wait a minute…. “ stops are classic “Bobby Rock Star” moments, I grin every time I hear it, Garcia last solo isn’t too shabby either. Dick’s Picks Vol. 21, so you should know this version, if you need to listen again, do so, but vote either way.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

How does this version only have 1 vote? The transition jam is very nice and the Rider flat out rocks, major Phil Bombs. Give it a listen and vote.
The Music Never Stopped

Very hot version, top 2 or 3 from ’77, (’78 being my favorite year). Love how they seem to finish the closing jam, but then continue on for a couple more bars.
