The first one, great version, very emotional, check it out.

The best version I have heard, played a little slower and under control. Beautifully singing by Lesh, from one of the best shows of ’95.

After the last notes of the final refrain, they wander into deep space and then return to the refrain again, powerful, give it a listen.

I love the interplay between Garcia’s lyrics and Branford’s sax, very sweet. Give it a listen and you will agree.

Cool version, returning to the main theme middle jam is was unexpected, but not the only time they did it. 4/12/82 Nassau, Bobby even noted “If this don’t… if this don’t work, I don’t know…. it’s gotta work” and also the first time 5/1/ 80 Greensboro. I was at this Baltimore show and Nassau and I need to listen to all again before I vote. Many, many good things happened in Baltimore that crazy night, so I have no doubt the last time they tried it was the best.

Face melting, neuron frying jam, one of the best of ’77 in my book, so top ten overall. If you don’t’ know this version, you should Dick’s Picks 34 Bonus Tracks, give it a listen and vote.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Dec. 12, 1980
Swing Auditorium

Never had heard this version, thanks for the input Estimated. Love the few rifts of Mountain Jam, unique I believe. The SBD that is linked is OK, I like the audience sources better. I love 1980’s China> Rider, just nominated three from 1980 that weren’t among the over 100 listed. There are almost 50 nominated with only 1 vote, so hopefully people will start listening to what’s here and give their opinions. Still nobody is taking your advice Estimated, too bad it you love early 80’s Dead, this rocks. Just gave it another listen, Love it!!
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Winterland Arena

Glad this one is high on the list. The final climax will leave you breathless, then the jam in to China Doll is just sublime. The whole show deserves another, then Vote, Dick's Picks #10.
