Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

Springfield Civic Center Arena

Another great version from the fall of ’79, give it a listen. Make sure you find the Charlie Miller_Rob Eaton SBD, very nice.

He's Gone

Boston Garden

Wow, How did the 1980 Boston Garden “Caution Don’t Stop…” version not get nominated, LISTEN Now, if you knew about it, you would vote, rivals 5/6/81.

He's Gone
Sept. 4, 1979
Madison Square Garden

Very nice outtro jam, 9+ mins, almost reaching mammoth proportions on its way to what we thought would be a monstrous Other One, never quite got there

Truckin'
Sept. 2, 1979
Augusta Civic Center

They totally screw up the lyrics, but once they hit “Get back Truckin’ On” wow it rocks, the first peak is very powerful, then a second peak.

To Lay Me Down
Aug. 3, 1982
Starlight Theatre

Great version from a great show, only three To Lay Me Down’s in ’82, all are very good.
To Lay Me Down
Oct. 17, 1983
Olympic Center

I believe this is the best one I saw live, the only ’83 version and it was very emotional and powerful. The entire place was silent during this song, (after blowing the roof off during Sugaree) and the finale just gives me chills.
Stagger Lee
Aug. 10, 1982
Iowa Fieldhouse - University of Iowa

Agree that this is an amazing show, this Stagger Lee, not so much, good but not stellar, it adds to the quality of the show, no doubt, but there a dozen’s better from ‘78 and ‘79 alone.
Stagger Lee
Oct. 27, 1979
Cape Cod Coliseum

The entire show could be nominated, well sung version with authoritative bass lines by Lesh, Mydland adds a lot to this version, one of the best of ’79 for sure, give it a listen.
Stagger Lee
Dec. 16, 1978
Nashville Municipal Auditorium

Great version from what I believe is the bell weather year for Stagger Lee, but is this the best? Top three for sure, I’ll listen to a few more before I vote.
