New Minglewood Blues
June 10, 1984
Cal Expo

Hard-charging, uptempo version. Emphatic. Interesting ideas from Phil.

Listen to Phil on this. I love how when you least expect it, he reinvents how to play a song.

It Must Have Been The Roses
April 20, 1984
Philadelphia Civic Center

Surprised this isn't on here yet. Great mid-'80s plaintive vocals by Jerry, victorious solo.

Check out Jerry's second solo

Brown Eyed Women

Alpine Valley Music Theatre

In this notoriously shaky year there are often gems to be found among the train wreckage. This BEW is an example. Jerry's solo is spot on

Blues For Allah
March 23, 1975
Kezar Stadium

Should be #1. Can you imagine going to this show and hearing this followed by Johnny B. Goode? The octave pedal on Jerry's guitar sounds insane and frightening. They accomplish in the Stronger Than Dirt jam what they never could regain in the next four years of playing Dancin' in the Streets.
Dark Star
Aug. 1, 1973
Roosevelt Stadium

Heavy, experimental, intense version. Going into El Paso is brilliant.
Cassidy
April 1, 1986
Providence Civic Center

Jam is great. Listen to Phil toward the end.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
March 27, 1986
Cumberland County Civic Center

This is a great China Rider. Listen to the outrageous moments in the transition, especially between Jerry and Brent.
Bird Song
March 21, 1986
Hampton Coliseum

A bright light from a dark time. LagerandGos is right. Jerry is sharp, Bobby is brilliant.
