Cryptical Envelopment
April 6, 1969
Avalon Ballroom

Can't just have The Other One listed for 69. Cryptical Envelopment matters, people!

Death Don't Have No Mercy
Feb. 15, 1969
Electric Factory

How this one has not been submitted already is beyond me. Peak era, amazing show all around.

Turn On Your Love Light
May 30, 1969
Springer's Inn

This one goes to "cow bell". Great end to a thoroughly wonderful show.
3
St. Stephen
May 30, 1969
Springer's Inn

Can't get enough of SS in 69; perfectly cromulent and into a dynamite 11 (as usual)

St. Stephen
April 26, 1969
The Electric Theatre

Wonderful St. Stephen totally representative of the era; Bobby doesn't even toss out a quip.

Cryptical Envelopment
Feb. 22, 1969
Dream Bowl

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the whole O1 prelude out of the drum break till Bobby starts singing the first verse is three minutes of pure magic.
Cryptical Envelopment
Feb. 27, 1969
Fillmore West

You may know it as The Other One; ranks relatively high there, but Cryptical is where it's at. Twas the 3rd song of an already raucous 1st set. Do yourself a favor and cue this justly classic 1969 show up from the start (School Girl bantz Rag bantz Cryptical, etc.) and stay for the banter and enjoy the next hour or so.
Cosmic Charlie
April 5, 1969
Avalon Ballroom

So after an immaculate first set they come out and do Hard To Handle and Cosmic Charlie and both are pretty rough; whole band seems out of sync. But stick with it, an amazing China Cat kicks off another hour of kick-ass 1969 Dead.
Dupree's Diamond Blues
April 5, 1969
Avalon Ballroom

Here begins an hour of uninterrupted bliss. It starts with Dupree's acoustic, which is followed by Mountains which becomes electric right before Dark Star into St. Stephen and then just the Tell tease to a Love Light climax. >kiss<
Death Don't Have No Mercy

Must listen. Wow! Jerry... doing Jerry things for sure. (Check for newer, cleaner source ref DS comments)
