This is definitely up there with my favorite Dark Stars. It’s all about Jerry, Bill, and Phil with this one. They push it further and deeper into space, with Bob keeping them grounded in this perfect space-jazz state. Everyone’s playing is top shelf. Definitely at must listen. Goes into a spectacular Dew too!

Bob’s playing is in insane on this version. Makes it even better that you can hear it very well on the Dave’s Picks mix of the show. Everyone else is playing great too, Phil especially. Top tier!

This one, even though Cornell’s NFA is fantastic, is better. I think the shorter length of this one is to its benefit; the Cornell one seems to be running out of ideas after the 12 minute mark, repeating phrases and trying to find its way back to the verse. I also find the jam to be more intense and attention grabbing, especially with Jerry using his octave pedal(what he uses on the FOTM jam at Cornell, UJB, etc). Bobby is on point as well, and Phil’s playing is top-shelf.

This one is definitely a favorite of mine. Must’ve been the second one I heard, just after 6/17/91. The matrix is the way to go with this one; the intro sounds and feels like coming out of the water. Great version, with a great Stella too
