Friend of the Devil
April 19, 1978
Veterans Memorial Auditorium

This FotD is a beauty. The vocals are sweet, and the solos flow like butter; just amazing.

Sitting on Top of the World
March 24, 1988
Omni Coliseum

This was soundchecked at a show sometime in ‘88; this date may not be accurate. Look for the “GD Home Movies” video on YouTube from LoloYodel

Throwing Stones
Sept. 5, 1989
Hartford Civic Center

Opening for JGB w/ Rob Wasserman. Very good acoustic version with great vocals from Bob.

The Harder They Come
Aug. 29, 1987
French's Camp

This is probably the best one I’ve heard JGB do. Jerry’s vocals are superb, almost 78 like. The jam in the middle is essential.

Oh Babe It Ain't No Lie
Dec. 6, 1980
Mill Valley Recreation Center

Not played since the Warfield/RCMH run, and it shows a little, but overall it’s still pretty good

Cryptical Envelopment
June 30, 1985
Merriweather Post Pavilion

Even though the 60s/70s versions are better, this one is great. 85 has the goods
Let It Grow
Feb. 14, 1986
Henry J. Kaiser Center

This version is spectacular. Everyone is firing on all cylinders. Great version, especially for 86
The Wheel
June 29, 1976
Auditorium Theatre

From a magical Playin’>Wheel>Playin’. The opener on this version is magical. The whole tune is very nice, especially the jam after that goes back into Playin’. The vocals are also really nice. I love the version from the night before(my favorite show), but this one is better based off the opening and the jam
Dancin' in the Streets
July 15, 1984
Greek Theatre - University of California

This show has my favorite opener! This Dancin’ is great; probably one of the best 80s versions. Hope this show gets an official release someday, along with the other 2 from this run
Dark Star
July 13, 1984
Greek Theatre, U. Of California

This Dark Star is a favorite for me. It’s from the Brent Era, and they hadn’t played it in a few years(1981), it still rocks hard. It’s nicely played, and Jerry’s vocals aren’t terrible(his vocals on 7/15 are way better. Listen to Bird Song). Really nice version from a standout year in the 80s
