Uncle John's Band
Dec. 26, 1969
McFarlin Auditorium, SMU

Sort of a proto-UJB. You can hear how they're feeling their way through this one. Vocally interesting with good separation of the voices.
Sugar Magnolia
July 16, 1976
Orpheum Theatre

You know, I tend to encounter a Sugar Magnolia that I haven't heard with some trepidation. Will the number of times that "Sunshine Daydream" is sung wear out its welcome? Will Bob go a little too nuts? But I always listen for one that catches my fancy. And boy, does this one. This is really good.
High Time

extremely emotional vocal by Jerry. and what everyone else is saying about this one.

Can be procured with Dave's Picks 2016 Bonus Disc. Or listen to the terrific matrix on the archive. I really like the PITB at this show -- very laid back compared to some. But, back to High Time. Terrific vocals and Keith adds some minimalist touches that punctuate the proceedings. Should be higher, methinks.

According to the JG official site, he started playing Wolf on 9/5/73, so I believe you are correct, sir.
