Phil is high in the mix. One of the best '71 versions, I believe.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Feb. 9, 1973
Roscoe Maples Pavilion - Stanford University

Okay, I'll out myself as a student at SU back then. A rainy day standing in line. Some got their foreheads stamped at the door: DEAD read the stamp. I was not tripping that night (although many were), but we were all very, very stoned. For the record, I was NOT one of the folks on the floor who damaged the court. This show really started to get wild around Here Comes Sunshine. Which means this China-Rider is way better than the vote indicates.

A very nice first rendtion. I like JG's solo on this. Wish they could have played it a bit longer!

Back when you could do so, I nabbed this show off the archive and burned a copy, since I had been at this one. I dusted it off (literally) and threw it into the CD player today and was surprised at how really, really good this version is. Folks who like PITB need to hear this and decide.

Jerry really gets into the singing here. Solid short rendition.

Certainly not one of Phil's better efforts, but Jerry and Keith add some very nice licks. Donna joins in for the substandard vocals. Too bad, because the rest of the band is on.
