Drums -> Space
Dec. 31, 1981
Oakland Auditorium

Jerry and Bobby create a beautiful space before TOO. A conversation in strings. Billy and Mickey create primal, carnivorous music. Hunting music.

Pretty Peggy O
Sept. 21, 1974
Palais Des Sports

What a crown jewel Pretty Peggy O can be. A truly tender version that washes away all my worries. These 74 versions are quite special.

Me and My Uncle
Sept. 21, 1974
Palais Des Sports

The Dead take the Parisians through a cowboys surrealist day dream. Check out how both Keith and Jerry are utterly locked into the music.

Blossoms and blooms like a shining red rose. I really love the energy for this show.

Ship of Fools

1974 and Ship of Fools go together like peanut butter and jelly. Full of emotion. They're really giving their all in this.

Eyes Of The World
May 7, 1977
Boston Garden

An introspective disco groove that feels massive in scale. The boys were on tonight, deeply listening to each and every move as they slowly and surely melt into the music, leading into some truly enlightening moments.
Around and Around
May 7, 1977
Boston Garden

Super cool version that flips you on your head once that classic Rock n Roll rhythm comes in and knocks your socks off. Eyes>The Wheel>Wharf Rat>Around and Around will be on repeat till time runs its course. The story tells itself.
Truckin'
Oct. 2, 1972
Springfield Civic Center

Where has this one been hiding? If you read this, check out the absolute abstract and mind shattering jams that follow into Morning Dew. The Nobody's jam is pure nastiness, exploring incredible blues themes with Keith chromatically exploring the keyboard. Exploding gradients of color coming right at you at super sonic speeds before landing gently into utter tranquility. Wow. '72 continues to surprise me.
Box of Rain
Feb. 15, 1973
Dane County Coliseum

I usually skip this tune, but this version made me turn my head. The Looks like Rain preceding this creates a beautiful suite of music evoking the calming serenity of rain drops falling from the sky. Beautiful version.
Beat it on Down The Line
Feb. 15, 1973
Dane County Coliseum

A little slower in tempo than others but has a deep locked in groove that’s hard to replicate. A beautiful Yin to Loose Lucy’s Yang, especially switching from Jerry’s Vocals to hearing Bobby’s in the next tune.
