Stupidly heavy, shades of early heavy metal on this one. Incredible controlled chaos that explores so much. A very tight version.

Phil joyously expresses himself on this. A gun shot is heard on this one signaling a jam, and the William Tell Bridge is really well played. Excellent

Sandwiched between Truckin’ and Eyes, this jam takes me to checkerboard floors and red curtains. Deserves its own place. Unique Jerry lines.

I adore any version of this tune. This one is particularly joyful and full of life.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Bouncy as it is lysergic. Unique phrasing from Jerry. Everybody’s vocals are on. The Rider is some pure country fried jamming if I’ve ever heard it.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
June 30, 1974
Civic Center
Jerry just soars. Just a real special moment from them as the band is completely interlocked and Jerry sees this as an opportunity to let loose and chart out new ideas. Lovely guitar lines that demand authority and turns the melody on its head. Lovely version. Rider is particularly inspired, very honest rendition.

This was my go to Playin’ for a really long time. Incredible electric fusion that alters your brain chemistry and zaps your entire nervous system. I need to revisit 8/6 but I had always preferred this night. Incredible showcase of Weather Report and Herbie Hancockesque jamming.

Like being stuck under cosmic ooze. Jerry is possessed, channeling spirts of old to help him traverse these different dimensions, pushing the boundaries of human exploration. Check out Keith at the very end.

Woahhhhhh. I didn’t even realize this show had a China>Rider. A little slow but I don’t mind. Has a deep groove that’s truly unmatched and reaches incredible interstellar heights with time and patience. Meditative version. A place where stars shine the brightest. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite Europe 72 shows.

SMOKING. Check out Bobby laying it down during Keith’s solo. The energy is impalpable. Turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream. It is not dying.
