Phil joyously expresses himself on this. A gun shot is heard on this one signaling a jam, and the William Tell Bridge is really well played. Excellent

Sandwiched between Truckin’ and Eyes, this jam takes me to checkerboard floors and red curtains. Deserves its own place. Unique Jerry lines.

I adore any version of this tune. This one is particularly joyful and full of life.

Bouncy as it is lysergic. Unique phrasing from Jerry. Everybody’s vocals are on. The Rider is some pure country fried jamming if I’ve ever heard it.

This is The Dead at peak performance level. Cataclysmic version. Everyone is ON. Explorative and not a beat missed. Easily top 5 of 69.

The Other One

Use this as evidence if anyone says telepathy isn't real. A truly grotesque whirlwind of sound all melding together to create a cacophony of psychosis inducing schizophrenic jamming. I find it hard to truly capture the scope of this behemoth.

Check out this whole jam sequence when you have the chance. Replaying this one for my 4th of July celebrations. Best version by far.

Words cannot describe this incredibly abstract and time bending Dark Star. The jam between Keith, Billy, and Phil around the 18 minute mark is one of the best jams I’ve ever heard from the band. This piece of music is a swinging pendulum of deep space exploration and experimentation. Totally awesome.

Just puts you right in that space. Always been partial to 4/24/72 but this one got me as of late. Pure Grateful Dead.
