Nice early electric version. Always preferred this key for Dire Wolf compared to when they changed it in the later years. Just right. Nice version.

Takes you right to Chicago. Jerry’s playing emulates the blues greats. Hard rocking version that reminds me of a Junior Wells cut. Highly recommend.

Haunting organ playing. Crystalline and psychedelic early version that feels very spacey. Great vocal delivery.

Very nice solo from Jerry. Phil is all over this as well, some great melodic bass playing that compliments the song very well.

Enunciated vocals from Jerry are always a treat. Haunting keys that emulate the rocking of a ship at sea. Great passionate version.

Thank you Gyln. Spells get cast, dragons slain, and hyperspace archived, I personally couldn’t ask more from a Playin’ jam. Brilliant use of timing from Jerry, his playing is particularly inspired this night, showing his wit and playfulness while revealing his musically virtuosic chaotic nature. Never really loses focus and gets deep, enveloping you in shades of blue and purple colors. Incredible version. Also listen closely and you’ll understand why Keith was the missing piece. Some of his best playing here. I didn’t know you well Glyn but I was instantly enamored by the sheer amount of contributions you’ve made to this site. Still one of my favorites. A walk through an open field with the stars all dancing up above, this one is a keeper. Beautiful version.

Truly one of my favorite jams. As the users above stated, an inverted Dark Star that explores dark and mysterious dimensions. Really the meat and potatoes of this is the Jam between, which features some of the most intriguing and transcendent lines from Jerry. A spiritual epiphany, jams like this couldn’t be replicated outside of 1972, His playing guides you towards something greater than ourselves and leads to some jazzy, psychically interlocked musical conversations. Whimsical and full of life. This one takes you on a real journey, check out Billy and Keith feeding rhythmic ideas to each other, adventurous and a virtuosic performance. Start from Truckin’ to really get the full experience. Such a phenomenal sequence of music and which eventually transforms into Morning Dew. Beautiful and brilliant subtle use of feedback on this, the meltdown after the first verse is cathartic and raw. Keith dissects and rips open a worm hole which the band gets swallowed into, and spirals. Cannot recommend this enough. Why the dead are the best.
