Dark Star

Man, this Dark Star. I liked Veneta, loved it. It was for me a peak into what the dead were about. This is what they REALLY are about. This performance really opened my eyes to what The Dead were as a musical and a spiritual unit. A haunting electric light show. This conjures up visions of an event horizon and traveling through the other side to find a cowboy's surrealist day dream playing out in front of your eyes before being shot right back into the cosmos. The rest that follows is a spirtual workout for the band and they really dig into such interesting themes before ultimately morphing into a stunning and unique performance of Wharf Rat. This Dark Star helped me appreciate The Dead so so much. So this'll always get my vote. Check out 5/4/72 to meet this Dark Star's other half. Yin and Yang.
