Stunning version. Sung with lots of passion, and during the solo, Jerry lets Wolf run loose and lets her howl. Great version from a great show!

The meltdown sections reminds me of a more mature version of the Dead’s feedback sections in the 60s. Keith sounding like Tom Constanten with the psychedelic channeling alchemical magic in the beginning of the section. This is what it feels like for The Dark Star to crash. The beginning is the calm before this deadly tornado came and blew everything away. This is it. True existentialist expression. Lovely jazz exploration near the end as well. I may prefer this over Veneta. Lol.

Just has that energy, I love Jerry’s witty and locomotive playing on this one. So great.

A versions that blossoms and blooms with creativity. Earthy version that feels grounded yet exploratory. Sways gently with the wind and rocks you ever so gently. Great wormhole spiraling jamming.

^Great review that perfectly encapsulates the feel of this song. This is one of many reasons why this in the upper echelon of personal favorite Dead shows for me. The cowboy tunes and the new American standards are played to damn near utter perfection. I am a jam head but I always love it when the song itself is played to it’s fullest potential. Love love love this show

The Charlie Miller source is genuinely so good. A crystalline sound and so coherent for 68. This is one of the very best and a soaring psychedelic mind melt. I’m high just listening to them. One of the first I ever heard and to this day remains a staple among my Dead listening sessions. Pure Dead.
