Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad

Jerry goes liquid over the top at 4:37. Whole band on board with urgency on this one.

This is a favorite. Listen as Jerry climbs into his solo and everyone is there supporting him as he marches through his work. They take a dynamic breather…settle in… Jerry puts the fine points on and then the band roars to a snap and snarl ending.

Awesome, powerful version. Jerry nails BOTH solos and freakin’ Donna rounds out “gran-do-OOO” twice. No mistakes anywhere! I voted for Boston 77 for the slam into the Garden floor though

Jerry’s insanely peaking up to the 6 min mark when Billy decides its time to kick it up and play. Phil delivers the lead to the drop and what follows, the pounding of the Garden floor, is like none other, and they are one! Oh, there’s the almost smooth vocal passage and more Phil trills, and another Jerry solo and and and....That’s why this is #1 for me.

Ya got Jer on peddle steel but other then that, a pretty straight up version here. It’s not even a Donna era duet version. Guess it’s numero uno bc of Europe 72 wide release.

Great version from a great show, incl highly Heady China Rider and #1 Sailor/Saint, this one has all of Jerry’s accents and lead but the extra multiple lyric lines are rare. What makes it great is the last 2 min when Bob sings and swings and pours his heart out with the melody but then stomps the “rain rain go away...” Def best of post-Donna duet versions. She did bring it on this one multiple times.
