One More Saturday Night

Beat Club

So, so tight! Holy shit! Spontanius combustion in the later half of this, my god. The video only makes it better!

Turn On Your Love Light
Nov. 15, 1969
Lanai Theater

Downright TRIBAL! If this had better sound quality it would be considered one of the best of '69. Helluva ride, clocking in at 42 minutes. Spin it!

Good Lovin'
Nov. 15, 1969
Lanai Theater

Embryonic Good Lovin', but fascinating thinking of how Good Lovin' transformed over the next two years.

Sweet, sweet Pig. So laid back, this Easy Wind is sleazy as should be.

The Other One

Fillmore Auditorium

Unique and thrilling, and a highlight from an overlooked show!
Caution
April 17, 1972
Tivolis Koncertsal

I have to comment on this one again, Billy is absolutely relentless, and the rest of the guys can't afford to stay behind. The perfect example of what the lineup could come up with at the time, timeless performance.
Dark Star
May 25, 1972
Strand Lyceum

When they reach the first verse they reach the top of the whole UJB > Wharf Rat > DS > Sugar Mag sandwich. The soulful, intricate playing that came with the UJB ending jam, lasted through the wharf rat and culminated in the theme rising up ever so majestic. Incredibly thoughful, intimate and inspiring playing. (UJB and Wharf Rat are candidates for nr 1 of all-time versions, and this DS is among the best of the tour.)
Bird Song
June 22, 1973
Pacific Coliseum

The pure AUD just fits perfectly here, no SBD patch or matrix needed, the AUD shows you the liquidity and formless beauty of this Bird Song. After i heard the first three minutes of this i already came to the conclusion that this "feels" better than Veneta, because they reach "that" place (i think everyone here knows what i mean,) and even though reaching that "place" is an individual thing, and may be reached differently from person to person and so on, this Bird Song reminded me what makes me love this band more than i ever realised i could even capable of, and that is feeling pure joy, excitement, anticipation, friendship and inclusion. Good night to you all from Norway, finding treasures like this makes life all the more valuable. Without a doubt my favourite Bird Song.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Sept. 27, 1972
Stanley Theatre

One of the weakest China Cats of the year, with a lackluster transition. But the Rider is top 5 of the year, they make up for the China/transition tenfold!
