Caution

Pigpen drives hard here, harmonica all the way. Early fireball, only giving us a glimpse of what Caution would turn into in only a year!

Really bluesy, love the Guild Starfire sound Jer had here. Flows into a groovy early Caution.

Jazz. Just plain jazz. Keith really shines together with Billy on this one, they carry you away in the nicest way. How the he** is this not listed?

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Bill jazzes on throughout the transition, and the jam goes just a little bit furhter than before. Cool version with a laid back IKYR.

Dancin' in the Streets

Phil is off the hook, found this today. This is the shit! EDIT: Has Phil ever been this prevalent in a Dancin'? Listened to this constantly the last few days.

I love these '76 pearls. Mellow and thoughtful, thank you.

(I'm going to issue a PSA here, the Seven is probably the most explosive jam of the 60s, maybe ever, it's THAT good)
Viola Lee Blues
April 26, 1969
The Electric Theatre

I wouldn't call it a Caution jam, as Phil often quoted the Caution bass riff to speed things up. LIA's blog talks more about this! (11/10/67, 2/2/68, the Monterey version etc.) The amazing highlight of this (sort of) sloppy version is the "Seven" quotes from the middle onwards, and especially at about 12:30 on the 'Fallout' version. The way Phil and Garcia lock into the riff, and then Bobby, Mickey and Bill jump on it is outstanding. They play this weird mix of Viola, Caution and the "Seven" from the middle to the fiery finish which i just can't get enough of. Not the best Viola, but certainly one of the most interesting. Imagine if they went into the Seven properly! It would probably out-do the 9/29/69 GoGo version by a mile (And in much better quality!) NB: Garcias slashing intro chord will permanently fry your frontal lobe.

This grooves hard - like a dancing snake. Yes.
