I am one in the minority that wished it stayed in the lineup. I have always considered 10/25 and 10/28 - 1 and 2.

Shakedown Street
Sept. 26, 1981
Buffalo Auditorium
There are those shows that you can tell the boys came out to rock from the moment they stepped on stage. One of the indicators is there would be almost no tuning up and then BAM! This sounds like one of those types of shows. This Shakedown has a very grungy beginning and then proceeds to rock out all the way through.
Eyes Of The World
Sept. 12, 1981
Greek Theater
Give me fall and winter '81 all day long. The band was tiiight and consistent with it during this period. I like the spacey pre-drums jam this Eyes melts into.

Cal Expo
What a great, great opener. Phil lays it all out as he did all that summer.

Paced like an early 70"s version. To these ears, just exactly perfect. Ok, maybe a tick fast, but excellent.
