May of 77!! What a gift. Thank you Grateful Dead. This show has become my go to 1977 performance. Maybe it is some 5/8/77 fatigue? Well... 5/25 stands on it's own and Scarlet>Fire on this night needs no comparison.

I like this song too much to say there is one best version. My sense of this performance is that it seems to best capture the song's essence, no frills... just a great sense of timing and melody. 11/11/73 and 12/29/90 also help set the standard for Eyes.

I am really lovin' this show, good recording, clean. This song stands out, I think, nice piano. Thanx to Road Trips for making this widely available. Right up there with Barton Hall for awesome '77 performances!
