Big River
Sept. 21, 1972
The Spectrum
Garcia and Weir drive this bulldozer, which at this point in the show comes after an unbroken chain of awesomeness extending from China>Rider to Black Throated Wind to Big Railroad Blues to Jack Straw to Loser to Big River with more cowboy tunes to come and no sign of slowing down yet with a fantastic Ramble On Rose and a top-2 version of Cumberland Blues on deck...
Big Railroad Blues
Sept. 21, 1972
The Spectrum
no prisoners version coming right after equally no prisoners China>Rider, Black-Throated
Dupree's Diamond Blues
March 26, 1990
Knickerbocker Arena
11-2-85 is better. Jerry's amazing tone guitar tone is much better all fat, crunchy, and wah-ed up psychedelic. His playing is far tighter and more precise on 11-2-85. Like a murder trial taking place at a carnival.
Dupree's Diamond Blues
Nov. 2, 1985
Richmond Coliseum
Jerry's amazing tone is fat, crunchy, and wah-ed up psychedelic. Should definitely be ranked higher than 3-26-90 as at least the best post 70's version and I would argue better than 1969, which may be sacrilege, but there it is.
