Dark Star
June 14, 1991
RFK Stadium

My first one. Missed the bustouts at Hampton '89 and RFK '90, but this one was huge...actually, the whole show was pretty colossal!

Death Don't Have No Mercy
Jan. 16, 1970
Springer's Inn Portland

Jerry just nails this version to the wall coming out of a sick Eleven Jam. This one is special.

Alligator
Jan. 16, 1970
Springer's Inn Portland

Okay, the Alligator's kinda short, but I nominate the entire Alligator>Drums>Eleven Jam because it hasn't been talked about on here. Smokin'.

Dancin' in the Streets
Jan. 16, 1970
Springer's Inn Portland

"C'mon everybody get in a big long line and dance around now!" Absolutely primal Dead

Morning Dew
Sept. 3, 1988
Capital Centre

Towering Dew. Jerry just emotes all over the place! The Ripple gets all the love from this night, but the Dew is the climax and the real highlight.

Turn On Your Love Light
Feb. 1, 1970
The Warehouse

40 minute RAGER? In N'awlins? With Peter Green? Well, alRIGHT!!!
The Other One
May 15, 1970
Fillmore East (Late Show)

This one is a beast! Pretty sure it's from the early show, though.
Shakedown Street
April 2, 1989
Civic Arena

Shakedown was like the white whale of my touring career. Took me so long to see one live! This smoker was one of the first I missed (sitting in the freezing, riotous parking lot that night), and upon listening, probably the best.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Nov. 24, 1979
Golden Hall, Community Concourse

The China Cat starts a lil' shaky, but they get it together...Jerry goes FAN CITY on the end of this Rider...what a turnaround!
Estimated Prophet
Oct. 26, 1989
Miami Arena

Maybe my favorite version ever. I love the unhinged way Bob screams "MY NAME" twice in some of these latter-day versions. Incredible jam into Blow Away and Dark Star. Just an amazingly energetic and psychedelic show!
