Eyes Of The World

Capitol Theatre

There's a beautiful 16mm video of this on YouTube -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf1dNTexCL4. Some absolutely beautiful runs by Jerry here

Turn On Your Love Light
June 14, 1968
Fillmore East

Not the best sound quality, but the quality shines through. Deserves a listing. Jerry and Bill K. on top form

Me and My Uncle

Jahrhunderthalle

This needs more votes. It's confident, solid, well-delivered, and bouncy as hell.

Turn On Your Love Light
Nov. 7, 1969
Fillmore Auditorium

Dynamic. Not the best, perhaps, but a 25-minute version from DP16 that's definitely worth listing.

Caution

Kings Beach Bowl

An absolute monster. From 'Dick's Picks Vol. 22'. The way Pigpen's vocals are recorded, weaving in and out of the rhythm tracks, is truly haunting.

St. Stephen
Oct. 12, 1968
Avalon Ballroom

Brilliantly punchy and energetic. They knock it out of the park straight out of the gate. Dynamic, too. They really gave this one their all. The 'Dark Star' preceding it is also highly recommended.
Cryptical Envelopment
Feb. 14, 1968
Carousel Ballroom

It does have good organ work -- though nothing can outshine Jerry's fantastic guitaring on this version. He's all over it.
The Other One
Feb. 14, 1968
Carousel Ballroom

Wonderful guitar tone, and the rhythm devils are on point. The band seriously nail (neal?) this one.
Jack Straw

Kezar Stadium

Is it just me or does Bob miss out some of the lines, just before the "cut his buddy down" verse? Very clean version, in any case, and sprightly -- perhaps too much so, given the subject matter!
Deal

Old Renaissance Faire Grounds

Other than a couple of OK solos there's really nothing to commend this version. There are better '72 versions (e.g. the one on 'Steppin' Out') and much better '70s versions; this one is plodding and pedestrian, just well-recorded.
