So Many Roads

Dean Smith Center - University of North Carolina

This song seemed to bring out the best in Jerry's singing in the final years. This version's no different. And the guitar solo's lovely too.

Jerry giving it some fiery filigree, rhythm section cookin' and Brent adding sweet colour.

I'm probably in the minority but I much prefer the electric stuff from this show. This has got such a lazy, loping groove with everyone feeling it.

Ramble On Rose

Madison Square Garden

Band feeds off the crowd. Lovely keys on this and a full-on vocal from Garcia, despite a couple of very minor flubs.

I know it's a cliché but I genuinely was surprised not to find this take here already. Everyone's on it. Dreamy but exact.

In fact I'm surprised the show isn't on here yet at all. Listening to SBD for the first time tonight and it's great . Mix is a little Brent-heavy sometimes but his playing's so fine it's not a problem.
