Playin' In The Band
Sept. 15, 1973
Providence Civic Center

Great version out of a nice Bird Song that suffers due to only an audience recording existing. Still definitely worth the listen though

High energy Truckin with a brief instrumental Nobody's Fault jam that segues perfectly into Smokestack to end set 1

This may be the best vocals I've ever heard from Phil in any song! Not hating on him, but love his part here in this tremendous outro jam
Big Railroad Blues

Playin' In The Band

Wow wow wow wow. This one and the Playin on this date in 74 are my two favorite versions. As spacey and jazzy as they come, yet full of power and direction all the way through. So much jamming on this one, it feels a helluva lot longer than 19 minutes! What a way to close the first set on this all-time show.

Another June '76 version with that "perfect" sound to it. Love this one and the whole show
