Hot Sugar Magnolia to cap off an energetic and well-played second set! The boys are ON tonight and only wish the first set was available somewhere....

Uncle John's Band

Greek Theatre, U. Of California

Heard this version played on the Brokedown Podcast's Workingman Dead's show and I have yet to really dig into any 80s Dead but this one stands out! Killer intro and outro jams, well-played all the way through, gonna have to do some more digging....
Promised Land
June 28, 1974
Boston Garden

While the show is known for The WRS>Jam>US Blues (and rightfully so), this Promised Land>GDTRFB>Sunshine Daydream right afterwards is a wonderful little Dead nugget, well-played all the way through. This second set also has a Sugar Mags>Scarlet B so that's all you really need to know....
To Lay Me Down

Wow. Gonna have to relisten to 6/23 because this one hits the spot...
Black Throated Wind

Fantastic version. Uniquely played intro, this one is for sure a hidden gem from this monster show

Jerry's voice here is so damn perfect. Not my first time listening, but absolutely love the Bo Diddley set and this one comes out so hot to open the Dead's first set. Incredible stuff full of emotion and wishing they played this again!
