Beat it on Down The Line
Dec. 14, 1971
Hill Auditorium
Fast and tight! No fooling around. Great vocals. Drums, bass, guitars, and Keith's piano are in the pocket.

Jerry's singing is top notch. Tight early version. Guitars and bass straight ahead.

The Mosque
I don't have DP 1. I listened on the archive. It's partly the performance and partly the recording that makes this one special. Arguably the recording is a bit "off". A little echo? Not sure, but it works. Beautiful performance, beautiful sound.
Greatest Story Ever Told

Jai-Alai Fronton
So good, even Donna's yelling is pretty good. (Phil and Jerry both are HUGE.)
Dark Star
June 24, 1970
Capitol Theatre
For "best Dark Star" I put my vote on Feb. 27, 1969, but this entire second set is easily my favorite audience recording and the craziest show ever. Love the music, love the crowd, love the pyro-technics. love the deadhead sitting near the microphone getting his face stolen repeatedly: "I gotta see them again."

Classic journey to outer space and back again. Simply the best.
