I'm not a MIDI person, but I thought Jerry's instrument choices fit this short Other One perfectly. I'm not totally into the Healy voice stuff, but this seven minutes of so was a refreshing change of pace for me. And I will visit this one again.

I'm definitely out of my time period here, but I loved this. The first solo is shredded and the song, which lives or dies on funk, has all that it needs. This Alpine run really was a high-water mark.

Yes, this is great. I put it on my list earlier this week when I saw your effusive praise and got around to listening yesterday. It was bright sunshine here and hot and I listened on a run. I thought maybe my ear had been biased by that beautiful weather, so I hit it again this morning. The sound quality helps, but the playing is crystal clear too and I really like the end of the China Cat. The whole version is above average for the date. I didn’t touch the rest of the show, which I understand makes some people really unhappy. Not a big fan of Help and Slipknot after 77, so whatever.

I think this is the best half step of the spring of 77. That's saying something, I know, but this show is a kind of downhill from here moment. Sure the fall has three half steps that probably beat this one and amazing playing occurs periodically ever after. But this show is the pinnacle of this 3 day winterland stand and it makes a fitting coda of that stand as well as the spring tour of 77 - an era of aesthetic perfection never met so consistently again. And this half step kicks the show off with aplomb.

3 solos: good, better and the third one is nuts. 77 gets most of the attention on Sugaree and versions like this can get easily overlooked.
