The Music Never Stopped
April 14, 1978
Cassell Coliseum - Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University

Bob blows some lyrics, but the midsection and outro are fluent and soaring. Lot on the list not as good as this one.

The Music Never Stopped

Radio City Music Hall

Honorable mention on the old dead clubhouse page, but not on here. There's a youtube video with great sound. See for yourself.

Cassidy
Oct. 16, 1981
Melkweg

A unique sounding Cassidy. Parts of this almost sound like a studio release of a different band playing like the dead.

MSG Scarlet Fire from the Fall of '82 - great transition.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Oct. 2, 1977
Paramount Theatre

This Fire is fantastic. Aggressive, psychedelic playing by Keith, whatever it is that he is playing, and the solo that Jerry takes after the first chorus is great, bottom to top.
Pretty Peggy O
Nov. 13, 1978
Music Hall

This is beautiful. Jerry and the crowd get worked up at the same time on this warm audience recording. I bet this one would be good in its own way if there were a SBD, but the linked source would still be worth hearing from time to time.
The Music Never Stopped
May 2, 1980
Hampton Coliseum

A little out of control and kind of violent at times. They really go after this one in both the midsection and the outro.
Dancin' in the Streets
Oct. 20, 1978
Winterland Arena

This is definitely a great. I love the actual beginning of the jam, funky spacey stuff, but 8:00-9:45 is an amazing Jerry and Bob dialogue and what follows is a glorious snapshot of a moment in time.
Franklin's Tower
Oct. 20, 1978
Winterland Arena

Crystal clear and sweet, then a fiery Bob and Jerry finish. As a standalone, or even as a halfstep>franklin's this one is better than 5 votes.
