Brown Eyed Women

Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Hall
Every bit the equal of Cornell. 8/24/80 still has a better solo, but this is 1977 y'all.

Perfect, with some filthy guitar in the outro.

The Music Never Stopped

"Mesmeride" is the best new word I've come across in a while. I have been going back and forth between "midjam," "midsection" and "spacey section" for a long time and I hate all of them. (I'll probably still use them.) And you're right, this one (5/9/77) has no mesmeride – but it does have one of the great outros. The midsection starts to stretch in October '77 and 10/16/77 is a great early midsection and solid outro. 4/24 is good, particularly for its outro - but check out 7/3/78 which has the superior mesmeride.

Lightning fast and pretty coherent.
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo

Yep, at one point he even sings lazy river instead of rio grandeo. Still, the song was getting rare by this point (there were only 4 more until '85) and it's nice to hear '82 Jerry play the rio grandeo parts. The outro is pretty strong actually.
