The Music Never Stopped
April 14, 1978
Cassell Coliseum - Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University

Bob blows some lyrics, but the midsection and outro are fluent and soaring. Lot on the list not as good as this one.

The Music Never Stopped

Honorable mention on the old dead clubhouse page, but not on here. There's a youtube video with great sound. See for yourself.

Cassidy
Oct. 16, 1981
Melkweg

A unique sounding Cassidy. Parts of this almost sound like a studio release of a different band playing like the dead.

MSG Scarlet Fire from the Fall of '82 - great transition.

Ramble On Rose
Dec. 30, 1977
Winterland Arena

This is really tight, especially the solo, as the description above says.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Dec. 13, 1980
Long Beach Arena

The Scarlet is decent, but the Fire is good in any era. There is serious power throughout the Fire - this one is not laid back. To compare this pair to 11/30/80 a couple of weeks before, I'd say the transition at the end of November is better, but the Fire here wins the overall comparison. This was a nice find, hanging out way down the ladder as it is, and I see a bunch of the heavy hitters have already been here. In fact, it looks like the 11 people who have heard the Fire.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

Winterland Arena

No, this is top 10. There's a released video with amazing sound and the key person is into how great this song is. This is good New Years stuff.
Dark Star
July 25, 1974
International Amphitheater

Only 7 of these in '74 and this one has a slipknot episode. I'm not crazy; the people are.
Stella Blue
June 28, 1988
Saratoga Performing Arts Center

dude420 - when you're right you're right. I was sure there were too many fucks in your review, but as it turns out, I think this is a three fuck song.
