Every bit the equal of Cornell. 8/24/80 still has a better solo, but this is 1977 y'all.

Perfect, with some filthy guitar in the outro.

1984 audience only standalone Scarlet (touch) at Red Rocks. Great solo, excellent transition.

10 minutes, on YouTube and worth a peek in b/w scarlet>bucket and terrapin.

Out of Scarlet Begonias to open the second set, with some teases of the song in the transition.

Underrated.

Frailing or fanning - or whatever you want to call it - isn't my favorite way for a Jerry solo to peak, but the frailing in the second break is clean, clear and powerful. This is a good recommendation.

I thought this was great. I saw you comment on this a couple days ago and I put it at the top of my list. You're right darkstar, it's not the best ever, but it's much better than many of the 7 minute, perfunctory halfsteps you'll find from 85-95. I just don't have enough time to listen these days, especially when school starts. If I ever make it to retirement, this music is going to replace a big chunk of my work life. Next up is that 12/11/72 halfstep you mentioned and then I'm going to get on that 77 halfstep project - complete with one of Sharleena's spreadsheets.

Who doesn't love Bruce Hornsby? This version is clean and played with enthusiasm. This is the set 2 opener and there's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeqN1fRWjGA
