This is a pretty intense early 80s-style Caution jam. I was surprised to find this just now.

A unique beginning with nice peaks to both the mid jam and the outro.

The final Keith and Donna Half Step stands up well, even though there's one lonely AUD.

An early Brent Mydland Half Step with electric piano pre rio grandeo and a joyful Garcia solo afterwards.

No fanning or soaring peaks, but solo 3 (7:45-12:45 on CM's SBD) is a new favorite - sublime, mellow, laid back.

I hadn't listened to this show in a while, but darkstar67 put it back on my radar a couple of weeks ago and I finally listened today during an epic August jog. (Can't call it running - I'm moving too slow.) This one will stack up with whatever golden era of Other One shines most brightly in your kaleidoscope. The entrance out of drums is strong and, of course, the solo Jerry Close Encounters bit is classic stuff. I believe that the playing gets better as the song goes along - and for me the strongest section is the conversation that Keith and Jerry have in the minutes between the verse where Bobby hops on the bus and Close Encounters. This is great.

Something's not right when solo 2 starts and Jerry is inaudible for a significant period of time. Make it to 6 minute mark and you'll hear him try to make up for it and, of course, that's great - but not worth a vote.

There is a massive mid jam and then they wind up in the ether. The last minute before Eyes could easily be a Scarlet transition.
