Eyes Of The World
Jan. 17, 1979
New Haven Coliseum

Several relentless guitar passages throughout.

Wharf Rat
Jan. 10, 1979
Nassau Coliseum

Hard to believe this is an AUD. 8:00-8:40 is a good example - crystal clear and tight.

Row Jimmy
Jan. 10, 1979
Nassau Coliseum

Not too fast and not too slow with some nice double time at the end.

Playin' In The Band
Jan. 6, 1978
Swing Auditorium

Jerry has laryngitis, so only Bobby tunes set 2 this day, and Keith Godchaux takes over the 2nd half of this PITB, especially the last 5 minutes.

Deal
June 22, 1983
City Island

This is an eleven minute Deal with a bunch of ebbs, flows and peaks.

Estimated Prophet
April 26, 1977
Capitol Theater

The video makes this one for me. The votes for the mosque, other may '77, etc. have elicited complaints before, but with this one you get to see what the song looked like at the time and that adds a rich dimension.
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo

The pre rio grandeo solo holds this one back. Otherwise, this is the stuff.
Dancin' in the Streets
April 26, 1977
Capitol Theater

63 votes for Cornell but 6 votes for this one, yet in this case there's a black and white video with SBD sound and a nice Jerry slide solo deep in the jam. There is only one C AUD on the archive for this date, so I imagine that has weighed this one down. The YouTube video starts mid-estimated prophet late in the first set. This dancin is 41:00 in.
Eyes Of The World
May 13, 1983
Greek Theater

This one stands out, smack dab as it is in the middle of the cocaine that drove this song in the 80s. It's not slow, but it's not an attempt to get d>s in 6 minutes either. This one bears a stronger resemblance to a '77 or 11/5/79 much more so than so many others from the era. And at 19 minutes, it's got about 10 minutes on a typical 80s Eyes.

The elements of the great 77 half steps are realized most fully for the first time on this take. The b/w video shows what it looks like. 9 votes on 7/19/20 does not reflect where this version should sit among 77 half steps.
