He's Gone
April 1, 1980
Capitol Theatre

A solid version with a passage about a minute long straight out of the heavens - directly following the a capella section. Must hear.

Stella Blue
July 1, 1979
Seattle Center Coliseum

Horrible video with STELLA sound on YouTube.

Black Peter
May 15, 1981
Rutgers Athletic Center

The first solo is sweet and beautiful. The outro is short, bluesy shredding.

Eyes Of The World
May 15, 1981
Rutgers Athletic Center

The well played end to a S>F>E>E combination. Jerry plays with a theme recognizable from the eyes on DP6.

Uncle John's Band
May 26, 1977
Baltimore Civic Center

The encore of the penultimate show of May 1977. It's short, but these people are practiced at this date.

Estimated Prophet
Feb. 27, 1977
Robertson Gym, UC Santa Barbara

It's early and they are still working this out. This and the day before are interesting for their historical import, but there are more than a dozen from the first half of '77 to put squarely in front of these two.
Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
Feb. 27, 1977
Robertson Gym, UC Santa Barbara

This version is 100% solid, but it contains zero jaw-dropping moments. It's just another ho-hum tight 1977 version. When you get past half-step, it doesn't sound like an AUD anymore - Garcia's guitar is clear and wonderful. The solos before and after rio grandeo are both too short for my 9/3/77 and 11/5/77 tastes.
Loser
Feb. 27, 1977
Robertson Gym, UC Santa Barbara

The AUD makes it a little hard to hear Keith, but what can be heard is good and the rest of the band really goes after this Loser. A-.
Eyes Of The World
Oct. 30, 1973
Kiel Auditorium

The end of this take is spacey, ethereal and dreamy. November 1973 was magic and it's in the neighborhood.
