Playin' In The Band
Feb. 3, 1978

Grendel, I respect your thoughts bigtime. I guess it does depend on how you like your Playins. I know we both don't dig nonsense noise in DS's and Playin's. I will listen to 2/26 again and and evaluate it on an elegance level. With that being said, I did say it was the highlight of Set 1. Thanks for your analysis.

Playin' In The Band
Feb. 3, 1978
Dane County Coliseum

Different beast than 2/26/77, but 39 minutes of goodness. The 6 minute build up to the reprise is golden and then just pounded home with not just power chords, but some cool playing by Jer. I can't believe Grendel hasn't commented...he is usually like don't forget the reprise. I will await his thoughts on this one after just commenting on 2/26/77.

Its a nice version, but just a warm up to the May/June versions.

Super tight for first time played. Great quality sound from the link. Pretty hard not to really dig this tune.
