Black Peter

The Spectrum
Jerry and Keith generate so much soul here. Blue. Sad. Beautiful. The crowd response to the emotion just adds to the sweetness. ✌

He's Gone
June 10, 1973
RFK Stadium
A fantastic version that was probably pretty symbolic for BOTH bands playing that day; Duane passing in ‘71, Barry Oakley just eight months earlier, in Nov ‘72, and then Pigpen passing away in March ‘73, a mere three months before this huge gig. Aside from the great jam, this version has exhibits super sweet gospel and soul between all singers. This version needs more love! Check it out and bump It up the list.

Civic Center
Fantastic energy and interplay to start the show! Jerry seems immediately inspired to extend the jam.
It's All Over Now Baby Blue

Frost Amphitheatre
Nailed it from start to finish. Really caps off an excellent show. Definitely gives 4/6/82 a run for it's money. They're both awesome.
Not Fade Away

Frost Amphitheatre
Really nice. Comes at you subtly, with a sweet combination of vocal soul and seamless grooving, before sliding into Black Peter with perfection. Really nice.
Scarlet Begonias

Palais Des Sports
A monster Scarlet Begonias not to be overlooked. The jam is super solid, and long, clocking in just over 10 minutes. Pretty heady, IMO. ✌️
