Incredible jazzy transition into Supplication

He's Gone

Winterland Arena

I'm not a huge fan of this song after 74, but this version is just exactly perfect. Gave me chills!

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Dec. 27, 1977
Winterland Arena

I'm surprised this one isn't listed yet. Although the Fire is only average, this Scarlet is one of the best unsung versions ever.

Truckin'
Jan. 6, 1978
Swing Auditorium

If you dig 11-6-77, you'll love this. One of the highest-octane versions ever performed. Insanity.

The Other One

Hot one from the night before Dick's Picks 16.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Feb. 3, 1979
Market Square Arena

A+ version right here. Like grendel says, the bridge jamming is insanely hot. The transition is nice and smooth, and then we get a raging Fire with Jerry just ripping the jam with tidal waves of notes. Awesome!
The Music Never Stopped
Feb. 26, 1981
Uptown Theater

Epic!!!
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Feb. 5, 1978
Uni Dome, U of Northern Iowa

Sure hope dannyc is being sarcastic. This is one of the very best ever, though I think 4/24/78 and 9/2/78 are a little hotter.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Sept. 2, 1978
Giants Stadium

This version without a doubt has the all-time best transition between the two songs; the jamming is just totally otherworldly. MAJOR x-factor on this one, and I can definitely hear why it's Dick's favorite.
Let It Grow
March 25, 1983
Compton Terrace Amphitheatre

Whoa. What this version lacks in precision it more that makes up for in apocalyptic shredding...between about the 6-8 min. mark is maybe some of the most insane jamming I've ever heard from this band. Words fail.
