Heresy I know but for me "Roses" can really lag in a set sometimes. Here it's a perfect Bakersfield country tune -- just the right amount of kick, dirt & dust & sweat. Absolutely electric & HEADY as all get-out

so deep - Jerry's voice is pretty haggard but it's not about the timbre, it's about the actual singing, and he sings this one with such confidence and complexity - like a great country singer. this tune can sag on the wrong night but as with the rest of this show it sparkles here
