WOW. Awesome drum crescendo at about 8:30, and they're off to the races for the next 10 minutes. Jerry and Bob prod Phil into dropping bombs at about 11:15, riff-strutting at about 15 minutes...this is the Grateful Dead Show Band. If you're looking for Pig, look elsewhere - there's no rap, and lyrics are almost an afterthought to the groove. Little known fact - Cleveland was a utopia until this jam destroyed it.

Very interesting jam, listening to it you have to wonder who was on that stage. The O1 itself is supercharged insanity. They slow the musical beast momentarily a couple of times, but only in order to rocket furiously in a different direction. Primal crunchy goodness.

From the opening bumble-bee buzz turned into whale orgasm on Jerry's guitar to the lilting Stephen invocation at the end, this one is something special. Some truly interesting space-plonking gives way to magic at about 13 minutes - this is one of the best examples of this era of the band. They operate just beside familiar thematic territory, using these themes as frameworks to pull perfect notes from the air.

Yes! The Mr. Charlie manages to be equal parts growling pig and ragtime, Loser is beautiful, Big RxR cooks, Sugaree swings *hard* (great work by everybody - Bob is letter perfect, Phil lays down that heavy swing, Keith hits flourishes, and Jerry is just sweetness personified) - on, and on, and on this show just smokes - Awesome to see it getting some more love. W/out a doubt they were putting the new guy thru his paces, but he manages to return the favor, too. If ever there was a situation for a 'Submit the whole damned show' button ;^)
