Turn On Your Love Light
June 20, 1969
Fillmore East
Absolute madness. Pigpen takes the Hammond for an extended stroll, and Jerry ends up on an acoustic before it's over.

You got to admit that that sweet, sweet jelly's so good

Another piece of awesome slightly obscured by being a 1970 audience recording.

The Other One
March 31, 1973
War Memorial
This one is just a unique little puddle of fun. Everybody is in the zone here, but Billy just puts on a clinic. Somehow he's always right on time with what's going on, and at the same time ahead of the next wave. Delicious ear food.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
May 26, 1973
Kezar Stadium
it's Feelin' Groovy - Bob's a little late to join the party, and it has that extra 'bridge-ish' section not found in the jam before it was put between China & Rider, tho. If you want to train your ear to pick out the jam, cue up 9/19/70, and fast forward to 16 minutes into Dark Star. OK, listen to the whole thing, just pay attention at about 16 minutes ;^)
Good Lovin'
March 5, 1972
Winterland Arena
Not the best recording, but worth subjecting yourself to. Pig only steps back for a minute or so, but the jamming just slides under his patter. There's even a mental clutch popping moment (at a bit after 6 minutes), with Pigpen rapping over a Mind Left Body jam in there.
Dark Star
Dec. 15, 1971
Hill Auditorium
This cooks. Jamming is all over the place, but never anywhere in particular for very long. I couldn't count the number of times they were yaaaaaay close to pulling the ripcord, and parachuting into a cowboy song. At a little after 8 minutes, there's even an Other One that tries to bubble to the surface.
Dark Star
Feb. 2, 1970
Fox Theatre
Absolutely beautiful before the 1st verse, but takes a dark turn after the 'post 1st verse BANG-ON-THINGS' session. At about 11 minutes, things coalesce into the audio equivalent of every ghost story and horror movie you've ever been party to. From an off kilter Feeling Groovy that's nearly disorienting to Jerry treating the interior of your skull like it was one of Mickey's gongs before the 2nd verse, this one has the potential to redecorate your brain pan.
