They charge into this one just as the Other One is coming to a close. Some sloshy moments in the final SSDD jam but they bring it home for sure.

Agree with all the nice stuff everybody else has been saying about this one. Beautiful Eyes.

Woah, woah, woah. WHY is this one so overlooked!? This is way the hell down the list from where I thought it was going to be. They just melt into Wharf Rat out of an epic spacey jam, and it's the first song sung in the second set. Jerry sings it beautifully, by the way. And the song melts back into the night at the end, and for a while Garcia is playing these lilting, glassy guitar passages before the band comes back in and they jam into Eyes of the World. There are a lot of great Wharf Rats, but this one is really deserving of more attention. The Wharf Rats from 1974 in general seem to be overlooked on this site.

Olympiahalle

Hey colorado guy, just for the record, it’s easy to imagine they were playing in a centuries old hall at this show but they were actually playing at a venue the Germans had built fairly recently, for the Olympics I believe. It was in fact just 2 years old at the time of this show! Worth googling pictures of the place, it’s pretty wild looking. Love this version of Scarlet, might be one of my favorite ‘74 versions period. Honestly listening to an AUD source front to back is just fine for this song, then you don’t get distracted halfway through when the tape changes over to a soundboard
