Garcia's solos roll like lightning & rock like thunder. Sings it w/gusto, too. Not to be missed.

The very definition of "underrated." Almost lost to time& yet it kills. No flubbed verses, great steady reggae jams;perfect transition. Please try it.

Jerry sounds "just like Wolfman Jack" when he growwwlllzzz out the final chorus on "Goodbye Mama & Papa...!" Whole version is aces back to back!

Jerry in especially soulful voice on this completely perfecto version from one of the best shows of '82. If you like 4-6 Spectrum, you'll love this.

Playin' In The Band

My favorite "sandwich" version, this PITB actually begins in the 2nd set as reprise from the previous night! Insane weaving thru UJB/Space/Dew

Uncle John's Band

Fox Theatre

outstanding in every conceivable way, from the "start at the end" intro to the meat of the jam and an outro that melts flawlessly into a lovely China Doll, this is a version that can get overlooked for almost being hidden amid this exquisite second set, but deserves to be in the top 5 if not top 3 all time.

Agreed! This is a more mature and better rendition than most. Whole show is a nice find.

^^^^So true about this year/month. I think November '72 is like May '77. Blind-throw a dart, you'll hit a great show. But yeah, I'd like there to be more ears on this version.

I'd vote for this a thousand more times if I could. Just listened again today more convinced than ever that even for 1972 this is one of the pure true best they ever performed. Every section has a jam with sense, color, purpose, power and nuance and the vocals are ultra silky and sweet. I realize there's a gaggle of great Birdsongs from this year--even this very month--but having this pearl at 3 measly votes is a travesty.
Me and My Uncle

Totally fascinating not just for Bob's early, odd, reading and phrasing....not bad, just so different....but the real treat here is Garcia's insanely liquid, super fast, picture perfect picking. Unbelievable. Upvoted for his lightning fast draw alone. Every Deadhead needs to hear this if they haven't already.
