There are longer versions, but none has a better bridge jam than this one. My favorite version ever--must listen!

Hard-charging drumming from Billy leads the way. Best MLB jam in this pairing I've ever heard. Hard to believe it wasn't listed yet.

Intense build-up jam, perfect touch-down. Weir absolutely nails it. My favorite version all-time

Laser-focused, perfect rendition, start to finish. Super-funky with awesome Jerry fuzz-guitar, rock-blues jamming post-vocals

Lucky enough to be at this show. Candyman blew everyone away--best song played that night. Awesome trippy guitar jam &Jer belts out vocals

Really one of the best, if not THE #1. Hornsby's piano fills make this version particularly juicy & make the jam portion is as good as it gets.

Problem w/TLEO in '77 is that it's a victim of its own success--so many incredible versions (5/25, 5/17, 5/19, to name just a few) that some individual ones get overlooked. So yeah, I'm uppin' this one a notch because it's yet another fantastically smooth/sweet terrific version.

"now we play for Clive", as in Clive Davis, President of Arista Records, who had just signed the band.

@Bignoze This being my #1 all time favorite Dead show I do wish beyond wishing that there was a pristine SBD recording of this show, but Charlie Miller does as fine a job as possible getting the best possible one available. The AUD is decent and I agree at some points in the show (esp. the Sugar Mag & the 2nd jam in Eyes) it's worth it to check out the AUD version. Overall tho' I'll take the CM version and b/c of the stupendous quality of the band's efforts this night, it more than does the trick.

Agree it's the best of the acoustic versions and so gave it a vote. This whole show on Bob's B-day has some very cool stuff.
