Brown Eyed Women

Kiel Auditorium

Fast-picking goodness. Jerry's bridge solo is long and lightning quick and awesome. 1 point off for lyric flub on re-entry, but the rest is gold.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
April 30, 1977
The Palladium

Sick of saying "How can X not be here" yet but C'mon! Get the digital DL series and start bumpin this up! Smooth Scarlet, killer Fire jams. Early gem!

Terrapin Station
Nov. 28, 1980
Lakeland Civic Center

From a year not particularly known for great Terrapin, this one proves the exception to the rule. Tight, inventive, soulful.

Monkey and the Engineer
Feb. 4, 1970
Family Dog at the Great Highway

Bob sez: "we're gonna play one of your favorites and we certainly hope it's one of ours" b4 this sweet electric version!

Sugar Magnolia
Oct. 7, 1977
University of New Mexico

As insanely good as the Wharf Rat that precedes it. How good? Almost matches 10/29/77 in intensity. Final jam section b4 SSDD will boggle your senses!

Tennessee Jed
May 12, 1977
Auditorium Theatre

@freedomhaul I enjoy listening to T-Jed while walking w/Grendel (obviously the guy in the pic) in the woods round my stomping grounds too, especially the part where his doggie turns to him and he sez.....gets me every time. btw if you haven't already check out the T-Jed from 10-10-82!

So good. This whole show could be listed.
The Other One
March 20, 1977
Winterland Arena

This is going to be in the rotation for a good long while. I'm slowly, maybe swiftly, falling in love with this version, which has all the precision of 1977 but also adds some great power playing by Jerry and a very delicate post lyrics jazzy flow that eventually drifts gently into a mild kind of space and then out into the fields of Stella Blue. It needs more love to be appreciated.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Nov. 25, 1982
Bob Marley Performing Arts Center

Pretty good if not a great version that probably deserves more respect. The transition into fire is really nice and the fire has the appropriate reggae feel for the venue.
Stella Blue

Winterland Arena

Delicate, beautiful start, Jerrylicious finish. Should be higher.
