for the purest funkadelic beat, go to 5/22/77 a couple weeks later. Barton Hall has a nice and chill laid-back quality, but i really think this song needs the funk, hello Florida

in my extreme fandom this is the best song to hear Jerry's soul. this version is fantastic, but 3/20/77 is the one.

I just got my 5/8/77 CD. i've heard the show before of course, just not quite as clearly haha. listening to the show in order, this version of Jack Straw was the first track to grab me and say yeah legendary show and all. great version, funky backbeat, good Donna, freaking amazing solo!

I hadn't listened to this for awhile and so experienced that whole I forgot to remember that this one was great. The dynamics sense is superb, they are locked in tight. This show has some other moments of awesomeness too, Other One into Sing deservedly being the most legendary ever.
