X factor jamming with Garcia playing some unique soaring leads in the modal scale. Ending jam has similarities to a strong version on 10/12/83.

Got this one entirely just recently after many many listens. It moves through several jaw-dropping themes, and has nice contemplative vibes, a relaxing version, one of mellow and coherent configuration. Lesh has some very nice opportunities to provide quality filling and soloing, he is on fire, drilling into the cosmos, shifting in and out of thoughtful chord patterns. In addition, the spacey section is a perfect companion to the exploratory band section, both are jazzy and excellent, all sections of this DS are noteworthy. This is a super sweet Dark Star and deserves everyones full attention.

This is a fantastic emotive reading, incredibly heartfelt, the vocals are just absolutely on point, and Donna, although she gets such an awful rap is downright excellent in this version.

Truth! All above said it well, this is one of the best. Lyrics AND instrumentals sound just exactly perfect, sound quality is also a check. This version is worth it, should have more votes.

Jerry takes his first solo into some uncharted territory, takes a detour and runs quick, pacing is great, and the way the band glides back into the verse out of soloing just needs to be heard. Then comes the second solo, powerful and angry, Garcia shreds this one through the roof, and yet again smoothly drifts back into the vocals, no doubt this version tops many in this month.
